Experience at CAKE

Last week Sam, who’s a student from Strode College, joined our office on work experience. As with anyone who joins the CAKE team, Sam has completed a Q&A
all about his time with us!

What was it like working for CAKE?
Working for CAKE was an interesting experience for me, I didn’t really know what marketing agencies really did or how they operated until now. Seeing how friendly everyone was and how close everyone is to one another really helped me feel welcome. I can be quite a nervous person, however everyone encouraged me to join in conversations and they gave me responsibilities and tasks right from the beginning which made me feel like part of the team. 

Why did you want complete work experience with CAKE?
I wanted to work with CAKE because my college course is positioned in this industry and would mean that I’d gain valuable experience in an agency. I also have a very creative personality and at CAKE they pushed me to think outside the box. 

What piece of work did you enjoy the most?
I was set the task of creating a range of Instagram posts for a beauty client. I am slightly addicted to social media and this I have a good eye for what stands out. I really enjoyed using my creativity to create engaging and specialised content. 

What was the best part about working for CAKE?
The people were by far the best part, everyone added something unique to any conversation that was had, and it was really great getting to know new people. I spent most of my time at my own little desk; however I always felt involved and if I had any questions or needed any opinions then I knew that I could ask and they would give their honest opinion to help me improve and grow my knowledge. Overall, I really appreciated my time at CAKE and it has definitely helped me to grow my confidence and knowledge of the marketing industry.
